Regulatory Disclosure
Effective 17 September 2026
This page explains BantabaMarkets' current regulatory status in plain language, so you know exactly what you are, and are not, using today. Read it alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Our current status
BantabaMarkets operates as a technology provider, in partnership with a licensed gaming operator holding an active license from the Gambia Gaming Authority (GGA). That operator partnership and gaming license are in force, and real-money staking is available on the platform to eligible users in The Gambia.
The identity of our licensed operator partner, and the specific terms of that partnership, are confidential under our commercial agreement with them — a standard confidentiality arrangement in licensed gaming operator partnerships. We do not publish the operator's name or license reference on this page for that reason, but the partnership and license are real and currently in force. If you need to verify our licensing status for a specific purpose, contact us using Section 9 below.
As we expand into Senegal, real-money staking there will depend on the equivalent Senegalese regulatory authorization, which is separate from, and not covered by, our current Gambia licensing arrangement. Until that authorization is in place, any Senegal-specific staking features remain in a pre-launch / testing capacity, not an offer of licensed real-money gaming in that jurisdiction.
2. What BantabaMarkets is, and is not
BantabaMarkets is a community prediction-pooling platform: users stake on real-world, verifiable outcomes, and stakes on the same outcome are pooled and settled against a published resolution source once the outcome is known.
BantabaMarkets is not:
- a casino, slot, or other game of chance played against the house;
- a sportsbook offering fixed odds set by a bookmaker;
- a continuous-trading exchange, derivative, or securities product; or
- investment, financial, or legal advice of any kind.
3. Age and jurisdiction
BantabaMarkets is restricted to users 18 years of age or older. Real-money staking is currently available to eligible users in The Gambia; Senegal remains in the pre-launch scope described in Section 1 above pending the equivalent local authorization. We do not knowingly offer real-money staking in any jurisdiction where its use would be unlawful, and we may restrict access from jurisdictions outside our intended market at our discretion.
4. Licensing basis
Real-money staking operates under our active licensed operator partnership and the GGA license in The Gambia described in Section 1. As we expand to Senegal, real-money staking there will similarly depend on the equivalent Senegalese authorization, which is not yet in place.
5. Anti-money laundering and know-your-customer (AML/KYC)
We require identity verification (KYC) before a user can deposit or withdraw real funds, consistent with applicable AML obligations. This may include verifying your identity, date of birth, and, where warranted, the source of funds you use on the platform. We reserve the right to delay, decline, or reverse a transaction, and to report suspicious activity to the relevant authorities, as required by law.
6. Safeguarding of user funds
User funds are held through our licensed operator partner's regulated payment rails, separate from BantabaMarkets' own operating funds. The specific fund-safeguarding arrangements are governed by our agreement with our licensed operator partner and, consistent with Section 1 above, are confidential.
7. Fair resolution commitment
Every market on BantabaMarkets discloses its resolution criteria and public resolution source before it accepts stakes. Outcomes are determined against that published source, and every stake, settlement, and payout is recorded on an immutable platform ledger, so the history of any market can be reviewed after the fact. See our How It Works page for the full mechanics, and Section 8 of our Terms of Service for how to raise a resolution dispute.
8. Play responsibly
BantabaMarkets is 18+ only. We encourage everyone using the platform to stake only what they can afford to lose, and to treat staking as entertainment rather than income. If your use of BantabaMarkets starts to feel harmful, you can ask us to suspend or self-exclude your account at any time by emailing contact@bantabamarkets.com. We may also independently suspend an account where we reasonably believe this is necessary to protect the user.
9. Complaints and regulatory contact
If you have a regulatory or compliance concern about BantabaMarkets, email contact@bantabamarkets.com with “Regulatory” in the subject line. Unresolved complaints may also be escalated to the Gambia Gaming Authority or the applicable regulator in your jurisdiction.
10. Changes to this disclosure
We will update this page as our regulatory status changes: most importantly, if our Senegal expansion timeline or licensing scope changes. We will update the effective date above whenever this page changes, and will make reasonable efforts to notify users directly of material changes.
